Cointelegraph Accelerator, a startup booster that utilizes Cointelegraph’s expertise and resources, has announced the launch of its second cohort in October 2023 for up-and-coming Web3 startups. This program aims to support and nurture these startups by providing them with marketing strategy expertise, access to Cointelegraph media products, and mentorship programs with industry experts.
Selected from a pool of over 1000 startup applications, the 16 participants of the second cohort represent a diverse range of Web3 verticals, including decentralized finance (DeFi), fintech, wallets, entertainment, social, and GameFi. These startups are focused on bringing innovation to various sectors in the blockchain space.
One of the key areas of innovation is in decentralized finance and trading. Startups like Changex are aiming to bridge the gap between traditional and decentralized finance by offering a personal finance mobile app that combines the two on a single screen. The app provides self-custody wallet solutions, crypto swapping, buying, selling, and staking services. Similarly, CryptoRobotics is a crypto trading platform that connects professional traders and analysts with users, allowing them to utilize their signals and trading strategies. The platform also utilizes trading robots powered by smart algorithms for automated trading.
Another area of focus is data storage and digital assets. GhostDrive is a Web3 native data storage platform that allows users to store, share, and access data on the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) and Filecoin. NGRAVE, on the other hand, offers a complete solution for full control of digital assets, providing maximum security and ease of use through their hardware wallet and encrypted backup.
The conventional social media landscape often neglects fair revenue distribution and user control. However, startups like Pop Social and ReadON are working towards a more equitable social media ecosystem. Pop Social is an AI-powered social gateway to Web3 where users can create and share content and get rewarded with native Pop Tokens for active engagement. ReadON, on the other hand, is a social app with a sharing economy model where content creators are rewarded with tokens and part of the ad revenue is distributed back to them.
The EdTech and HRTech sectors are also witnessing innovative developments. Talentre is a Web3 talent platform that provides users with access to blockchain education courses, events, certifications, and a traceable tokenized achievement system. It also connects Web3 companies and projects with a verified talent pool. Additionally, Fanton is a Web3 fantasy football game integrated with The Open Network (TON) blockchain, offering a new and engaging experience for players.
Finally, monetization and user engagement are crucial elements in the entertainment sector, and startups like Replay are leveraging blockchain technology to create rewarding streaming experiences. RewardedTV, their blockchain-powered streaming service, allows viewers to earn digital tokens and collectibles while engaging with content.
These innovative startups selected for the Cointelegraph Accelerator program represent the potential for growth and disruption in the Web3 space. Through Cointelegraph’s support, mentorship, and access to its wide network of investors and industry leaders, these startups will have the opportunity to thrive and make a significant impact in their respective industries.
