Jared Kushner’s investment firm is leading a huge project to develop Sazan Island — a small, uninhabited island off the coast of Albania. The island was a secret military base during the Cold War, packed with about 3,600 concrete bunkers and roughly 10 miles of underground tunnels.
The Albanian government approved the project in late 2024, giving it special “strategic investor” status.
What the Resort Will Look Like and Be Used For?
This will be high-end luxury eco-resort aimed at wealthy tourists: Hotels and private villas. A marina for large yachts.
Restaurants, spas, and wellness centers.
Walking trails and scenic viewpoints. Some of the old bunkers and tunnels will be preserved and turned into unique attractions for guests.
