Sandbox founders: Individual creators have definitive influence in shaping the metaverse.

The co-founders of The Sandbox believe that the future of the metaverse lies in the hands of individual creators and brands, rather than any centralized entity. To support this vision, The Sandbox team recently announced that they have made The Sandbox Map accessible to everyone. This means that “LAND” owners can now publish their own experiences on the platform without having to go through an application process.

This move is expected to increase the amount of experience and content available on The Sandbox platform. Sebastien Borget, one of the co-founders, stated in an interview that this will allow anyone to make their experience accessible to the public, thereby unleashing the creative potential of creators. The ability for users to create and own content and property in Web3 is a key aspect of The Sandbox’s strategy.

In addition to making The Sandbox Map accessible, The Sandbox also plans to update its Game Maker tool. This tool is used for building and testing experiences on the platform. The update is expected to introduce new gameplay mechanics, templates, and social interactions to make content production even easier. The Sandbox also plans to “reignite” its 100 million SAND Game Maker Fund next year, which currently has a value of $36 million. This fund will be used to further support content creators on the platform.

Arthur Madrid, the CEO of The Sandbox, highlighted the company’s efforts in connecting brands to fans through various contests and collaborations. The Sandbox has worked with brands such as Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, Gucci Vault, Snoop Dogg, Invincible, and Adidas. Madrid also acknowledged the challenges of integrating multiplayer capabilities in metaverses at scale, particularly on blockchains.

Looking ahead, Borget emphasized the importance of establishing more defined use cases in virtual worlds to drive metaverse adoption. He believes that incoming users are seeking memorable experiences to gravitate towards. Currently, The Sandbox has over 400 partners that have signed up, indicating the growing interest and support for the platform.

The co-founders of The Sandbox are confident that giving creators and brands the freedom to create and own content in the metaverse will shape its future. With the accessibility of The Sandbox Map and the planned updates to the Game Maker tool, The Sandbox is empowering creators to unleash their creativity and contribute to the growth of the metaverse ecosystem.
