I’ve seen interviews with people in Donbas. They have either been happy about Russia taking over or indifferent. They all say they are glad to speak Russian again in public. So I don’t why Zelenskyy would save his people that don’t want to be part of Russia.

When one side says they will concede nothing on territory, there are no negotiations. Russia will keep going.

At this point in the Special Military Operation, Ukrainian strongholds, or as DIma likes to call them “dense networks of fortifications”, are places where Ukrainian soldiers gather to be slaughtered by Russians FPV drones, TOS flamethrower systems, artillery and FAB bombs.

Ukrainian counter offensives are just done for PR victories, at high cost, and they NEVER hold what they take in the long term, Russia always takes it back. Russia on the other hand takes land, and holds it long term, even if bits and pieces are temporarily taken by AFU from time to time. Long term, Ukraine has already lost this war, it’s just a matter of how much smaller they want their country and population to be. To keep their men fighting and dying to keep a corrupt and expired ex-president in power, is a human tragedy and a disgrace. Shame on Trump and the west for supplying unlimited weapons even when they know the price Ukraine is paying an will pay….all to harm Russia as much as possible. Monsters.

Pescov talks about broadening the scope of talks regarding territory. Presumably this means the Russian delegation will be talking about MORE THAN Donbas. Presumably Zaphorigia and Kherson too.

Trump wants peace but in the same time he is bombing Russia using Ukraine as a proxy.
In the same time Putin is playing nice to Trump , to not anger him.
Why is Putin scared of Trump i dont understand this? Trump is playing Putin as a fiddle.
Putin should show Trump there is a red line and if its crossed by the US, Russia will respond directly.

If an army is not able to defend anything anymore sucessfully, how can they manage a successful offensive. I would rather say, Selenskyj send them on suicide missions to beg for more mones in negitioations. So done successfully in Munich last weekend …

Russian soldiers report empty Ukrainian Armed Forces trenches in Sumy Oblast
KHARKIV REGION, February 16 – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian Armed Forces trenches in several sections of the front in Sumy Oblast are empty due to a 90% understaffing. Instead of the 500 required, about 50 soldiers may be deployed to battle, Russian security forces told RIA Novosti. “In some Ukrainian Armed Forces units holding the line in Sumy Oblast, the trenches are empty. Instead of the 500 soldiers required, an infantry battalion has about 100, of which at best 50 are ready for combat; the rest are wounded or serving in the rear,” the agency’s source said.
He clarified that Ukrainian Armed Forces units located on the line of contact in Sumy Oblast are rarely withdrawn to the rear in full strength for reinforcements and rest.
