The Stranded Starliner Astronauts Have Another Problem: NASA Says Boeing and SpaceX are Not Compatible

By RT News

Boeing and SpaceX chose vastly different design approaches, one can’t simply be swapped for the other. The capsule is only configured for four passengers, despite originally being designed to be occupied by a crew of seven. That means their suits wouldn’t have anywhere to plug in.

Fortunately, SpaceX’s upcoming Crew-9 mission, which could be launched with just two, not four, will be on its way, and they could bring them new suits, allowing them to return in February. But billions of dollars that went into the Boeing-NASA capsule will be lost.

Can anything else go wrong for Boeing?
